Seattle's Vintage Home Specialist
Gretchen Schmidt loves vintage character. In particular, she has a great appreciation for and extensive knowledge of Seattle's classic homes. An area native, she has lived in Seattle since birth. She's thoroughly familiar with Seattle's communities, where intensely appealing neighborhoods harbor hundreds of vintage houses. She has personal experience remodeling her 1923 French colonial from the foundation up. Her experience with renovation and preservation makes her an even more valuable resource for buyers and sellers of this type of property. And since Gretchen has always had an affinity with old homes, she's emphatically in tune with the communities’ vintage character and modern day charm.
Substantial Experience
In tune with both buyers and sellers, Gretchen devotes significant blocks of time to listening carefully, noting expectations and answering questions. She views both buying and selling as a “process that requires attention every step of the way” and keeps clients fully up to date on their transactions. Buyers trust her substantial expertise in vintage homes to help them evaluate historic properties and make the best possible decision. Sellers know she’ll focus that same expertise on maximizing their home’s exposure and appeal. And Gretchen’s overall knowledge of the real estate process and vintage homes makes her an invaluable resource.
A Natural Role
Because her family is so important to her, Gretchen relishes time spent with her two children, Sarah and Connor -- from snowboarding with them to cross country jaunts to dig fossils. "We have a great time together, a lot of fun," says Gretchen, who's known for her thrill-loving nature. When she's not rock climbing or running, you will find Gretchen on her mountain biking. That driven nature inspired Gretchen to earn a bachelors degree in finance and accounting from Western Washington University, Bellingham. From there she went on to work for Microsoft and the Mercer Island School District.
